Blur & Pixelate Image — Hide Faces and Text

About Blur & Pixelate Photo

Hide the parts of a photo you don’t want to share — faces, car number plates, house numbers, addresses, names on documents or card numbers. Drag over an area to pixelate it, blur it or cover it with a solid black box. Everything happens in your browser, so the photo is never uploaded. The saved copy is a fresh image, so the hidden detail is really gone and the photo’s hidden location and camera details are removed too.

This tool works in your browser: the files and text you use are processed on your device and are not uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Drop in, choose or paste a photo.
  2. Pick Pixelate, Blur or Black box and drag over each area you want to hide. Tap an area to select, move or change it.
  3. Adjust the strength, then download the redacted copy.

Frequently asked questions

Can a pixelated or blurred area be undone?

The downloaded image only contains the reduced, pixelated pixels — the original detail is not stored in the file. For text such as passwords or card numbers, use strong pixelation or a black box: a light blur on large text can sometimes still be guessed.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The photo is opened and edited in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Drag with your finger to cover an area, and tap an area to select or move it.

What format is the download?

JPG and WebP photos are saved in the same format; other images are saved as PNG. Location, camera and other hidden metadata are not copied into the new file.
