Audio Trimmer — Cut MP3 & WAV
About the Audio Editor
Load an audio file, see its waveform, and select regions to focus on — a lightweight in-browser editor for previewing, trimming ideas, and inspecting audio visually. Your audio is decoded and rendered locally, so nothing is uploaded to a server.
This tool works in your browser: the files and text you use are processed on your device and are not uploaded.
How to use it
- Load an audio file from your device.
- Use the waveform to navigate and select a region.
- Play back the selection to review it.
Frequently asked questions
What is a waveform and how do I read it?
A waveform plots loudness over time. Tall sections are loud (beats, vocals), flat sections are quiet or silent. It lets you visually spot pauses, peaks, and sections without listening through the whole file.
Is my audio uploaded to the cloud?
No. The file is decoded and drawn in your browser using the Web Audio API, so your recordings stay entirely on your device.
Which audio formats are supported?
Common browser-supported formats such as MP3, WAV, and OGG load reliably. Support for less common codecs depends on your browser’s built-in audio decoding.
Why does a large audio file take a moment to load?
The whole file must be decoded and its waveform drawn before you can interact, which takes longer for long or high-bitrate audio. Once loaded, navigation and playback are instant.
