Sheet Studio — Online Spreadsheet
About Sheet Studio
A free online spreadsheet that works like Excel in your browser. Write formulas such as =SUM(B1:B10), =IF(C2>100,"High","Low") or =VLOOKUP(A2,Prices!A:B,2,FALSE) with 40+ functions, references between sheets, and automatic recalculation. Format cells as currency, percentages, numbers or dates, and use bold, italics, alignment and colours per cell. Work with multiple sheets, select ranges and copy-paste to and from Excel or Google Sheets, fill formulas down, sort, filter and freeze columns.
This tool works in your browser: the files and text you use are processed on your device and are not uploaded.
How to use it
- Click a cell and type a value, or start with = to enter a formula (or pick one from the Functions menu).
- Drag or Shift+click to select a range; the status bar shows its sum, average and count.
- Copy and paste with Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V — including from Excel or Google Sheets — and press Ctrl+D to fill a formula down.
- Add sheets with the + tab, then download everything as an Excel workbook or the current sheet as CSV.
Frequently asked questions
Which formulas are supported?
More than 40 common functions: SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, COUNT, COUNTA, IF, IFERROR, AND, OR, SUMIF, COUNTIF, AVERAGEIF, VLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, ROUND, ROUNDUP, ROUNDDOWN, ABS, SQRT, MOD, MEDIAN, CONCAT, LEFT, RIGHT, MID, LEN, UPPER, LOWER, PROPER, TRIM, TODAY, NOW and more, with +, −, ×, ÷, ^, & and comparisons. References can be relative (A1), absolute ($A$1), ranges (A1:B10), whole columns (A:A) or on other sheets (Sheet2!A1).
Will my formulas still work in Excel?
Yes. Downloading as Excel writes real .xlsx formulas (adjusted for the header row) along with number formats and column widths, and opening an .xlsx brings every sheet and its formulas back in.
Can I paste data from Excel or Google Sheets?
Yes. Copy a block of cells there and paste into any cell here — rows and columns are filled in automatically. Copying within Sheet Studio keeps formulas and shifts their references like Excel does.
Is my work saved?
Your workbook is saved automatically in this browser, so it is still there when you come back on the same device. It is not uploaded anywhere — download it as Excel to keep a copy or move it to another device.
What do errors like #DIV/0! and #REF! mean?
#DIV/0! means a division by zero, #REF! a reference to a cell that no longer exists (for example after deleting a row), #NAME? an unknown function, #VALUE! the wrong type of value (like text in a sum), #N/A a lookup with no match, and #CIRC! a formula that refers to itself.
